Do I need all these documents if I only use AI tools like ChatGPT?

No. If you only use third-party AI tools or APIs (ChatGPT, Copilot, Gemini, or the OpenAI/Anthropic API in your own app) you are a deployer, not a provider, and deployers have lighter EU AI Act obligations under Article 26. ComplyLayer detects your role for each AI system and generates only the documents that role requires, so deployers are not burdened with provider-only paperwork such as technical documentation or a declaration of conformity. You become a provider only if you train or sell your own AI.

Can ComplyLayer generate documents in other languages?

Yes. ComplyLayer generates compliance documents, audit reports, and the auditor portal in 7 languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and Italian. You set the output language in Settings, which is useful for EU AI Act compliance across member states where documentation may be expected in the local language. The application interface itself is in English.

What is the Auditor Portal?

The Auditor Portal lets you generate a secure, read-only link to your compliance posture — covering every AI system, its risk level, document status, and your overall compliance score. You can share this link with external auditors, regulators, your legal team, or your board without giving them an account. The link can be revoked at any time.

What exactly does the EU AI Act require?

The EU AI Act requires organizations to classify AI systems by risk level, maintain technical documentation, implement human oversight for high-risk systems, and ensure transparency when users interact with AI. High-risk AI system obligations apply from 2 December 2027 (updated via EU AI Omnibus, May 2026).
